Box Measurement Guidelines

Box Measurement Guidelines

Facebooktwitterlinkedin

In the packaging world we measure boxes in a specific way. Today we wanted to share with you our guidelines for box measurement.

Box dimensions are always read in this sequence: Length, Width, Depth.

The length is the LARGER of the two dimensions of the open face (flap opening); while the SMALLER of the dimension measurements is the width.

The depth is always the distance measured perpendicular to the length and width between the innermost surfaces of the box.

Pads, liners, partition pieces, die-cut pads, scored blanks and sheets of corrugated or solid fibre board, with only two dimensions, have their size specified with the first dimension parallel to the corrugations, or perpendicular to the grain of solid fibre board.
