Our Packaging Design Inspiration So Far

While we are only a couple months into 2021, the events of 2020 have carried through and have had a seemingly lasting impact on packaging design. Companies are making the best of it and coming up with innovative and interesting ways to promote their products through good design.

We are rounding up some of the most inspirational packaging we’ve seen in 2021 thus far.

  1. Folx

Not only does Folx aim to serve urban trans populations (which have traditionally been falling through the cracks of traditional healthcare settings), but they have also employed the use of a telehealth model which has become increasingly popular since the onset of the Covid pandemic. Inclusivity is a huge trend in packaging design as a whole and Folx has done it right. Their brand and visual identity was created by an entirely queer design team which is reflected in the authentic feel of the design. We can’t stress how important employing a team which reflects your target market! They have also hit the big trends of the past couple of years by using bold, serif fonts, bright colour blocking, and minimal graphics.

  1. Talsam

In a world which is becoming smarter and smarter, Talsam has created a line of smart jewelry which aims to keep loved ones connected and safe. When people across the globe have been living under various public health orders and states of lockdown, Talsam allows you to remain close with your loved ones that you may not be seeing as much as you were before. They have even developed a beautifully designed app which allows you to send private messages through your jewelry. Not only is the jewelry itself elegantly, and minimally designed, but the packaging creates a luxurious unboxing experience. The box itself feels like a mix between a traditional, velvet-lined jewelry box and an iPhone box. It feels modern, elegant, and minimal all at the same time.

  1. Suculenta Reposteria

It’s widely recognized that we are spending more and more time looking at our various screens. Social media sites like Instagram have become one of the most powerful tools that companies are using to market their products. It has become so important that companies create an unboxing experience and create packaging that is (for lack of a better term) “Instagrammable”. Suculenta Reposteria is such a beautiful example of creating highly aesthetic packaging that is begging to be photographed. Based in Mexico, their business model delivers holistic dessert options in an ethereal package. Suculenta cardboard boxes look like an absolute dream that is begging to be photographed.
