Summer is is here and it came in strong. With summer comes camping, hanging out at the beach, hiking, and many other activities. However summer also brings crops of delicious fruit to enjoy at home or in any of these activities. Here is a list of some of the fruit that we get to enjoy from beautiful British Columbia’s backyard:
Given the large variety of delicious fruit, we would like to focus this blog post to the berries. Blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and cherries usually are packaged on clam shells for portioning and retailing purposes, and then put into trays for shipping. At ibox packaging we manufacture corrugated trays that are perfect for the shipping and displaying of berries. In the following video you can see how these (sample) trays were cut in the die-cut machine, and then folded and assembled:
The first tray in the video is a die-cut folder, and the second is a RE tray with lid. The die-cut folder has the following dimensions: inside size: 13 1/8 x 10 1/4 x 3 1/4 – sheet size: 19 1/8 x 26 13/16; and the RE tray with lid: inside size: 11 13/16 x 7 13/16 x 3 15/16 – sheet size: 28 15/16 x 23 1/4. If you need other type of tray with different specifications, we can manufacture that as well. Check out our custom boxes page for more information.
These corrugated trays are not only meant for berries. They are quite versatile for packaging, shipping or displaying small to medium size produce. We mentioned berries in the post because that was the initial purpose of the design, and is what our clients have ordered them for in the past. The trays are sturdy enough to display fruits such as apples, peaches, tomatoes, etc.
